Here are a few tips that can help you enjoy your RV travels even more:

1. Safety first

So you now that you secured your small business financing, you are ready to continue your business from the road. But, before you embark on that road trip, you will need to consider a few safety precautions.

Before heading out, always ensure that your RV is in it's best mechanical condition. This will prevent unnecessary stops and delays along the way.

Here is a guide on checking your vehicles battery and power. Be sure to also check your brake lights, water tank, gas tank, and vents.

Once you completed your safety check, make sure you inform at least two people of your travels. We recommend leaving information regarding your schedule, routes, destinations, and planned excursions. Keep in mind that it might be helpful to leave your predicted  time of arrival and departure from each stop, this way someone can always have a general idea of where you should be.

Remember it's not uncommon to lose a cell phone, break down on the side of the road, or even get lost. If someone knows where you are, or at least where you should be, they can help you when you are unable to help yourself.

2. Pack healthy food and plently of water

When traveling, you might beenticed  to opt for foods that are prepackaged, laced with preservatives, and are ready to eat. These foods are typically full of salts and fats. Although these processed foods may seem the mostconvenient, fast food may have a negative affect on your overall health.

When preparing for your trip, grocery shop for fresh produce and packaged foods with a list of ingredients lower than eight. Meal prepping and planning will give you an idea of what to buy, and how to have food available  in your RV for when you need it. Here are the top 50 healthiest foods to consume.

3. Stop every couple of hours

When you have a set destination to get to for the day, it may sometimes be tempting to drive for long hours. As much as you need to get to your destination in time, your body also needs some rest and relaxation.

If you push it too much, it could lead to burnout and a weakened immune system, which will ultimately affect your RV traveling experience.

It is important to take some short breaks along the journey: get out of the RV, stretch, take a little walk, hydrate and replenish. If you are travelling in a group, it may be a good idea to take turns driving to avoid exhaustion.

Remember, even though you may be in a hurry to reach your destination at a certain time, you do not want to end up falling asleep behind the wheel or losing concentration due to fatigue and exhaustion.

4. Gas up as often as possible

This will ensure that you are always driving with enough gas to get you to your next station, even if the station seems farther than normal.

Enough though you may think you are able to estimate the amount needed to get to your destination, there can always be variables brought about by varying speeds, wind resistance and other such factors that may ultimately affect your gas mileage.

5. Pack what entertains you

Whether you’re stuck in traffic or parked at Walmart for the night, having entertainment may help you get through the night. Having DVDs and a DVD player will allow you to watch your favorite movies and shows even without WIFI.

Games can entertain groups at a time and bring the fun element of competition. Outdoor games are also a fun activity to play at campsite. Books, and coloring pages is a quiet way to keep your mind busy during late hours of the night.

6. Do not drive at night

As much as many drivers want to believe that driving at night is ideal because of reduced traffic, and cooler temperatures, this is not always a good idea.

If you are on a road trip with an RV, chances are you already feel comfortable driving all day. Continuing to drive at night will only extend the need for a break. Keep in mind that driving tired increases the risk of an accident due to the inability to make quick decisions  while fatigue, coupled by reduced visibilty at night. Insted of risking your safety, pull over and get some rest to recharge for the next day.

The RV lifestyle can be an affordable option to travel. If you are interested in taking your first trip, start by creating a realistic budget and saving diligently for the same. The best part, you can still take up part time remote jobs to maintain an income while working on the road.

Ready to retire your RV, donate it to your charity of choice!
