How to Clean the Car Interior

Like you love to clean your car from the outside, it is also essential to keep its interior clean to make it look good inside out. Safety and cleanliness always come first when it comes to the condition and maintenance of the car. Your car interior needs to be cleaned at least every month, but its cleaning depends on how the car is being used, the car's condition, how frequently you drive your car, and how many passengers are using the car.

As cleaning the car interior is essential, so here we have mentioned some of the tips below about cleaning your car interior;

Before we mention the tips, here are some of the equipment you need with you;

  • Trash bin
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • best microfiber cloth for cars
  • Cotton swab
  • Sponge
  • Stiff-bristled scrub brush
  • Bucket
  • Duster
  • Old toothbrush
  • Dull knife
  • Ruler or paint stirrer stick
  • Spray bottle

Clear Out Trash

First thing first, before doing any other cleaning, you need to clear all the trash from the car, wrappers, bottles, and used tissue paper. These kinds of the trash usually gather into the car when you have naughty kids with you. So before you do vacuum on the mats or the seats, clear all the apparent trash thoroughly from the floor, under the seats, and in the seat cracks.

Remove and Clean Mats

After clearing up all the trash, remove all the mats from the car, shake them properly. By shaking them, the dust and other particles on the mat will be removed, and it will get easy to vacuum them. After that, soak the mats in hot water and rub them with a  brush, and then put them in the sun to get dry.

Vacuum Car Seats

We drive our car everywhere on the roads, and it gets a lot of dust even inside the car. So when you have left the mats of the car to get dried in the sun. Meanwhile, you can vacuum the car seats.  Start from Vacuuming both front and back seats, the floor. Try to vacuum every area of the vehicle to where the nozzles get to, including under the pedals and along with the side door panels.

Clean Hard Surfaces

When you get started to clean the surfaces, start by wiping the dust first. After that, you can use any liquid spray or car-specific cleaner on the steering wheel, front, and between the side of the seat, console, door handles, and other non-glass surfaces. You can also use an old toothbrush for the surfaces where your hands can't be reached. Cleaning this deep car interior will make your car look new and maintained. According to the CDC, solutions containing at least 70 percent alcohol are safe to use on most hard interior surfaces of your car and effective against the coronavirus.

Clean Windows

To clean the window interior, use a specific window or glass cleaner spray, and for the window glass, use a soft microfiber cloth not to get scratched on it.

Clean Door Panels

The door panels may be a combination with the mats of the car. To clean them, you need a microfiber cloth and a specific car cleanser to wipe them. Don't neglect to clean the back door or hatchback. Keep the doorways open while cleansing so the dust and dander land at the out of doors of your car.

Remove Stains

Stains are something that makes your car look ugly and untidy even if you have removed all the dust and trash from the car. And sometimes, it gets hard to remove some stains. So if your car seat has a stain, all you can do is take a bit of soapy water to remove most stains, even on leather seats. Ensure the cloth isn't soaking wet, but If the stain remains, use some rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth to dab (not rub) the stain until it lifts. While you can get it too wet for the floor, the stain can be easily removed after that.

Make That Non-Glass Surfaces Shine

After doing all the cleaning, the last thing is to make the hard surfaces of the car shine. For this, you can use specific car shining wipes, wipe smoothly on all the non-glass surfaces.
